Wilson Fire Starter — Shipping, Delivery & Wholesale Policy

Wilson Fire Starter is a Canadian-owned business based in Echo Bay, Ontario. We proudly offer premium Canadian-made fire starters crafted with pure Canadian beeswax and reclaimed wood shavings. We are committed to providing clear shipping information so customers can make informed purchasing decisions.

By placing an order through our website, customers acknowledge the applicable shipping terms outlined below, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.

1. Order Processing & Fulfillment

Orders are generally processed and prepared for shipment within 1–2 business days after payment has been received and confirmed.

Orders are not processed or shipped on weekends or statutory holidays observed by Wilson Fire Starter. Orders placed during holidays or business closures will be processed on the next available business day.

Order processing time is separate from carrier transit time. Delivery estimates begin after an order has been processed and dispatched.

2. Shipping Within Canada

Wilson Fire Starter offers economy and standard shipping options for Canadian orders, subject to availability at checkout.

Economy Shipping — Free Shipping on One Bucket

Free economy shipping is available on qualifying Canadian orders containing one (1) Wilson Fire Starter Bucket per order.

  • Free economy shipping applies to eligible Canadian destinations only.

  • Estimated delivery is 11–16 business days after dispatch.

  • Additional buckets or quantities exceeding the one-bucket allowance are subject to applicable shipping charges.

  • Free economy shipping does not apply to orders shipped to the United States or other international destinations.

Standard Shipping — Canada

Standard shipping is available for Canadian orders at an additional cost.

  • Shipping fees apply to all standard shipping orders.

  • Standard shipping charges are $10 CAD for 1 bucket, $20 CAD for 2 buckets, $30 CAD for 3 buckets, $40 CAD for 4 buckets, and $50 CAD for 5 buckets, subject to availability at checkout.

  • Orders containing up to five (5) buckets may qualify for the applicable retail shipping rates.

  • Estimated delivery is 6–12 business days after dispatch.

Customers should select their preferred shipping method at checkout and review the applicable shipping charges and delivery estimates before completing their purchase.

3. Shipping to the United States

Wilson Fire Starter currently ships eligible orders to the United States using an economy shipping service.

US Shipping Rates & Delivery

  • A flat shipping rate is applied according to order quantity for orders containing up to five (5) buckets.

  • US economy shipping charges are $39.99 USD for 1 bucket, $49.99 USD for 2 buckets, $59.99 USD for 3 buckets, $69.99 USD for 4 buckets, and $79.99 USD for 5 buckets, subject to availability at checkout. Free shipping is not available for US orders.

  • Orders containing six (6) or more buckets qualify for wholesale pricing eligibility and must be arranged directly with Wilson Fire Starter before purchase.

  • Estimated delivery is 11–22 business days after dispatch, depending on destination, carrier routing and customs processing.

US delivery estimates are not guaranteed. Customs inspections, border processing, carrier delays, weather and other circumstances beyond our control may extend delivery times.

Customers should confirm the applicable shipping rate before placing an order. If the required quantity or destination is not available through standard checkout options, please contact us directly.

4. Customs Duties, Tariffs, Taxes & Cross-Border Fees

Orders shipped from Canada to the United States or another destination outside Canada may be subject to customs duties, tariffs, import taxes, brokerage charges, customs clearance fees and other cross-border expenses.

All applicable import duties, tariffs, taxes, brokerage fees, customs clearance charges and additional cross-border fees are the customer's responsibility, unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly agreed to in writing by Wilson Fire Starter.

These charges are separate from the product purchase price and any shipping fee charged by Wilson Fire Starter. They may be collected by customs authorities, carriers, brokers or other third parties before or upon delivery.

International shipping costs, tariffs and duty requirements can change frequently. Customers are responsible for informing themselves of current import requirements and potential charges applicable to their destination before placing an order.

Wilson Fire Starter does not control government-imposed tariffs, customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees or third-party carrier charges and cannot guarantee the amount of such charges in advance.

Refusal to Pay Customs Charges

If a customer refuses delivery, declines to pay applicable import charges, or a shipment is delayed or returned because required charges have not been paid, the customer may be responsible for resulting return shipping, storage, handling, customs or other carrier charges.

Refunds are not provided solely because a customer is unwilling to pay properly imposed customs duties, tariffs or other import charges. Any refund or other remedy required by applicable law remains unaffected.

Customers should contact the relevant customs authority or shipping carrier for the most current information regarding import charges before purchasing.

5. Wholesale Orders — Six Buckets or More

Orders containing six (6) or more Wilson Fire Starter Buckets qualify for wholesale pricing eligibility and must be arranged directly with Wilson Fire Starter.

Wholesale prices, quantity options, shipping arrangements and applicable terms will be confirmed before the order is finalized. Wholesale pricing is not automatically applied to standard retail checkout orders.

6. International Shipping Expansion

Wilson Fire Starter is exploring expanded international shipping options. Available destinations, delivery methods and pricing may change as our shipping services develop.

7. Subscription Orders & Recurring Deliveries

Wilson Fire Starter offers subscription-based deliveries to help customers keep their supply of Canadian-made fire starters stocked. By choosing a subscription, you agree to the recurring order, payment, delivery, and cancellation terms outlined below.

Subscription Delivery Frequency

Customers may select one of the following recurring delivery schedules at the time of purchase, where available:

  • Every 4 weeks (approximately monthly)

  • Every 8 weeks (approximately every 2 months)

  • Every 12 weeks (approximately every 3 months)

Your selected delivery schedule determines how frequently your subscription orders are placed. Delivery dates may vary due to order processing, shipping times, statutory holidays, carrier delays, and other circumstances beyond our control.

Recurring Payments and Charges

By starting a subscription, you authorize Wilson Fire Starter and its payment and subscription service providers to charge your selected payment method for each recurring order according to the subscription frequency you selected.

The applicable subscription price, any subscription discount, shipping charges, and taxes will be shown during the subscription purchase process where applicable. Recurring charges will continue according to your selected schedule until your subscription is cancelled or otherwise ends under these terms.

Subscription Management and Cancellation

Customers are responsible for managing their subscription and keeping their contact and payment information up to date.

You may manage or request cancellation of your subscription through the subscription management options provided by Wilson Fire Starter, where available. If you cannot access your subscription management options, please contact us at contact@wilsonfirestarter.com for assistance.

To avoid a subsequent recurring order, submit your cancellation request before the next order is processed or charged. If a recurring order has already been processed, cancellation may apply to a future order rather than the order already in progress.

Any cancellation, refund, or return request remains subject to our published Return and Refund Policy and applicable consumer protection laws.

Changes to Subscription Pricing or Terms

If subscription pricing, discounts, delivery options, or other material subscription terms change, we will communicate changes where required by applicable law. Any changes to future charges will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the terms presented to customers.

Failed Payments

If a recurring payment cannot be completed, the subscription provider or Wilson Fire Starter may notify you and request updated payment information. A shipment may be delayed or suspended until payment is successfully processed.

8. Shipping Delays & Delivery Estimates

All delivery timelines provided in this policy are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. Transit times vary by destination, shipping method, carrier operations, customs processing, weather conditions and seasonal demand.

Statutory holidays are excluded from our processing schedule, and orders are not processed or dispatched on holidays observed by Wilson Fire Starter. Carrier holidays and customs closures may also affect transit times.

Once an order has been handed to the carrier, delivery scheduling and transit are subject to the carrier's operations. Customers should use any tracking information provided to monitor their shipment.

9. Returns, Refunds & Order Issues

Shipping fees, customs duties, tariffs, brokerage fees, import taxes and other third-party charges are generally non-refundable by Wilson Fire Starter once incurred or paid to the relevant third party, subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the order.

If an order is damaged, incorrect, defective or otherwise eligible for a remedy under our Return Policy or applicable law, Wilson Fire Starter will review the circumstances and address the matter accordingly.
